Yakov Yosef Felberbaum, a native of the Chassidic community of New Square, was raised under the guidance of the Skvere Rebbe, Shlita. For over a decade, he has been a vital force in the Orthodox community of the Upper West Side, working closely with Rav Rebbi Moshe Vorhand, Shlita. His active role in Shabbat and Yom Tov gatherings at Heichel Moshe has strengthened communal bonds and enriched his spiritual journey.

His commitment to serving others led him to earn a master’s degree in psychology and social work from Long Island University Brooklyn College. Currently, Yakov Yosef works with teenagers and children at Sipuk Clinic Pesach Tikvah while also maintaining a private practice in Brooklyn, offering vital mental health support to those in need.

Nachal Novea: A Movement of Music and Unity

As the founder of Nachal Novea, a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening the Jewish community through uplifting musical events, Yakov Yosef channels his passion for music into a mission of unity and resilience. Through Shabbatons, concerts, and festivals, Nachal Novea empowers attendees to deepen their connection to heritage, faith, and one another.

In September 2024, the organization launched with a landmark Shabbaton and music festival in honor of October 7th, rallying the Jewish world to “Elevate the Spark”—a call for remembrance, hope, and renewal. This annual event is set to become the cornerstone of Nachal Novea’s vision, ensuring that the power of music continues to uplift and fortify Jewish identity in the face of adversity.

Guided by the wisdom of Rav Rebbi Moshe Vorhand, Shlita, Yakov Yosef remains steadfast in his mission: bridging tradition and music to inspire, heal, and unite.
